Hormonal bloodwork and hair transplant
One of the essential requirements at the Instituto Médico del Prado, for hair transplant is the taking of oral medication. Thanks to Finasteride, Dutasteride and Minoxidil, mainly, you can stop the advance of alopecia as well as grow stronger follicles still existing in our head. As we always explain at the Instituto Médico del Prado, taking medication alone will not make hair grow where it no longer exists. To adjust the medication, a hormonal bloodwork will be necessary.
Dr. Espinosa Custodio usually resorts to the medical compound for the preparation of medication. Thanks to this method, the appropriate grammage of each medication can be used to use the exact dose required by the doctor. It will help in this way to adapt the medication to each patient according to the needs. But how do you discover those needs?
To calculate the dose of each patient, a hormonal analysis is performed. While it is true that there is some consensus for a generalized medication for hair patients, it is good to look for a specialized clinic that cares about individualities.
At the Instituto Médico del Prado we have a specialized laboratory to perform the analysis. More than 60 associated centers throughout Spain will receive our patients and perform the analysis. In a few days, the result will be received by Dr. Espinosa Custodio who will be able to analyze and prescribe the medication so that a pharmacy specialized in medical compounds prepares the capsules.
Among the parameters necessary for the analysis of hormonal profile, values will be requested on free and total testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, complete blood count, serology (HIV and hepatitis), thyroid and liver profile or PSA, among other levels.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will the doctor receive the results of the analysis?
Once the analysis is done, the doctor will have the results a few days later. With this, the medical compound can be commissioned. In less than two weeks you could have the medication ready to start the treatment against alopecia.
When should I perform the analysis?
Once the doctor determines that the analysis is necessary, it can be performed as soon as the steering wheel is in possession. Keep in mind that, the sooner it is done, the sooner the medication regimen can be started.
Is the medical compound only composed of Finasteride, Dutasteride and Minoxidil?
The medical compound, as we explained, is a combo of different compounds. The normal thing is that it carries Finasteride or Dutasteride as well as Minoxidil, although it may only be composed of one of them, with a lower dose than the marketed one. Other vitamin supplements or antihistamines may also be included.
