Patients travel to Instituto Médico del Prado from across Spain and from many countries around the world to undergo hair restoration treatment with Dr. Espinosa Custodio. We are proud to welcome international patients and have developed a streamlined process to make every stage of the experience as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
Our clinic is chosen not only for its medical expertise, but also for its commitment to quality and patient safety. We strictly comply with all healthcare regulations established in Spain and by the Community of Madrid, following rigorous clinical protocols throughout every stage of diagnosis, treatment, and postoperative care.
Your first contact with our clinic
Your hair restoration journey begins the moment you contact us. Whether you reach out by email, telephone, or WhatsApp, our team is available to answer your questions and guide you through every step of the process.
We provide assistance in both Spanish and English, allowing international patients to communicate comfortably with both Dr. Espinosa Custodio and our patient support team.
The first consultation can be carried out either in person or online.
Whenever possible, we recommend an in-person consultation because Dr. Espinosa Custodio performs a comprehensive scalp assessment using HairMetrix® by Canfield, an advanced digital trichoscopy system that evaluates hair density, follicular characteristics, and the different stages of the hair growth cycle.
This detailed examination allows us to provide a highly accurate estimate of the number of grafts required and to design an individualized treatment plan.
If travelling before surgery is not possible, an online consultation can also provide valuable information. Although advanced imaging cannot be performed remotely, Dr. Espinosa Custodio can evaluate the degree of hair loss, discuss your expectations, and recommend the most appropriate treatment, whether that involves hair transplantation, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), hair mesotherapy, medical therapy, or a combination of these options.
Planning your surgery
Once your surgery has been scheduled, our support continues.
For patients travelling from abroad, we can recommend hotels conveniently located near the clinic, making your stay in Madrid as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure and the early recovery period.
On the day of surgery, we continue to communicate with you in your preferred language whenever possible, ensuring that you fully understand every stage of the procedure, postoperative care, and the recovery process.
We also accommodate individual dietary requirements during your stay at the clinic, including vegetarian, vegan, kosher, and allergy-conscious meal options whenever needed.
Long-term follow-up
Our care does not end when your surgery is complete.
Following your hair transplant, we remain available to answer questions, monitor your recovery, and provide ongoing guidance throughout the healing process. We also prescribe and coordinate any postoperative medical treatment required to help maintain the best possible long-term results.
Follow-up appointments can be carried out either in person or remotely via video consultation, making continued care convenient for patients living outside Madrid or overseas.
At Instituto Médico del Prado, we are committed to providing international patients with the same high standard of personalized care before, during, and long after their hair transplant procedure. Wherever you are travelling from, our team is here to support you throughout your entire hair restoration journey.
